Thread Creator: $1,100 in Monthly Recurring Revenue
X (Twitter) post scheduler
Thread Creator is a platform to help users create and schedule tweets which was acquired by Tim Bennetto in 2023.
Brands and professionals can use the tool to put together threads or individual tweets on X in just seconds. The service also allows users to connect multiple X accounts and manage them from one dashboard.
A free account option allows customers to plan five tweets each month, with an unlimited tweet tier priced at $15 per month.
Whilst monthly recurring revenue was disclosed as hitting $1,100 in September 2024. In reality the monthly income figure is higher than this at around $2,000 due to some members paying annually for subscriptions.
It’s worth noting that there were plans to re-brand Thread Creator to Buddyy, but Tim is now open to offers for the business. So we’ll be following its progress with keen interest.

Social media scheduling for everyone
It's not typical that we would feature a site so young, but I love how open Post Bridge's founder is about their journey.
Jack Friks seemingly just wanted to solve his own problem: Finding a simple social media scheduling tool that didn't cost hundreds per month (to connect a lot of different sources).
His solution, was Post Bridge, which has already passed $1,400 in monthly recurring revenue.

Supergrow: $15K in Monthly Recurring Revenue
LinkedIn post inspiration and creation
Supergrow is a platform to help professionals grow their brands on LinkedIn which was founded in May 2023 by Deven Bhooshan and Utsav Patel.
The software contains several features designed to increase engagement and reach on the platform. Some of these include the ability to save and categorise ideas with a single click, as well as receiving tailored LinkedIn post inspiration on a specific topic.
Supergrow also allows customers to generate posts with the help of AI by matching the user's writing style. These posts can then include templated carousels and be scheduled for publishing.
Pricing for the service starts at $19 per month, which includes 50,000 words of content. The three additional pricing tiers, ranging from $29 to $500 per month, include additional word allowances and other benefits.
Despite operating as a team of two - though they are currently recruiting a front-end engineer - the business has supported over 3,000 customers to date. This has helped drive monthly recurring revenue beyond $15,000, just 17 months after launching.

Thumbnail Test: $20K in Monthly Revenue
Test Thumbnails Live On YouTube
Thumbnail Test allows users to conduct A/B testing of thumbnail images on YouTube, live.
Since 2022 the service has allowed customers to analyse which thumbnails are converting the best and then maximise the number of views on uploaded videos.
To date Thumbnail Test has supported more than 1,000 channels reach over 2.5 billion views.
The pricing for the service starts at $29 per month for a Basic subscription, $49 for a Team account and $99 per month for the Enterprise tier which allows more channels and team members.
In 2023 the business reached up to $20,000 per month in revenue and achieved $118,000 in annual revenue. In early 2024 Thumbnail Test was sold was sold for a six-figure fee.

EasyGen: $540K in Annual Recurring Revenue
AI-powered LinkedIn post creator
EasyGen is a LinkedIn post-creation service which was launched in 2024 by Ruben Hassid.
The AI-powered software is designed to help users generate new content for their LinkedIn accounts quickly and easily.
Customers can select an industry to target, a niche within that space, and a topic type. Artificial intelligence then generates a LinkedIn post aimed at capturing the attention of that target audience.
Visitors can test out the service by producing three pieces of LinkedIn content for free. EasyGen then costs $59.99 for additional posts that can be published on the platform.
Ruben shared that just 92 days after launching, EasyGen was already generating over $9,100 in monthly recurring revenue, which grew to $41,500 MRR by November 2024. EasyGen is now generating $540,000 ARR.

Megaphone: $47K in Monthly Recurring Revenue
Platform to boost social media engagement
Megaphone is a platform to provide instant organic engagement to social media posts from relevant creators that was founded by Michael Houck in 2023.
After Michael grew his own audience beyond 90,000 followers, he created Megaphone to support others to increase their reach. Customers can use the service to increase the views of their posts across LinkedIn and X by paying influential users to engage with their content.
Users can join the platform from $49 per month, and then deposit as much as they wish to spend on the service. This money is then sent to these vetted and matched creators in the relevant niche if they engage with the boosted posts within one hour of receiving them.
In 2023 Megaphone amplified over 2,000 posts which were boosted by almost 7,000 creators. This resulted in users of the service gaining more than 400,000 followers across X and LinkedIn.
The business now drives tens of millions of impressions for customers each month across a variety of niches. The growth of the brand has led to Megaphone generating $47,300 in monthly recurring revenue.

Pallyy: $70K in Monthly Recurring Revenue
Social media scheduling and analysis
Pallyy (initially called ShareMyInsights) is a social media management and scheduling tool that was founded by Tim Bennetto in 2019.
The service helps users to post to their social media platforms and analyse the impact from just one place. Pallyy also supports managing the inbox of seven different social tools.
Tim spent four years building (self-taught) and then marketing the business single-handedly, and has only recently employed another team member to improve and scale the service.
Initial revenue came from charging customers just $5 per month. But, as the business and offerings have expanded, users now pay $18 per month for premium access to the service. Although, a free version remains allowing 15 posts per month.
Within the first year, Pallyy was achieving just $1,000 per month in revenue. This grew to $4,000 in the second. After introducing affiliate marketing and focusing on SEO, Tim grew this to $33,000 per month in the third year.
Pallyy, now with over 100,000 users, is currently earning over $70,000 per month in revenue. We'll continue to monitor this progress and provide relevant updates.

ContentStudio: $1M in Annual Revenue
Social Media Management Platform
ContentStudio is a unified platform for managing socials which was founded and bootstrapped by Waqar Azeem.
Individual customers and teams can use the dashboard to plan, schedule and analyse their social media content.
These posts can be produced quickly and at scale using the AI capabilities of ContentStudio. This includes creation of social content containing AI-generated captions and images.
The 80,000 users of the service can opt into one of three pricing tiers. The first is $25 per month for individuals, $49 for teams and $99 per month for agencies.
ContentStudio is currently generating over $1 million in annual revenue. Waqar is also an advocate of using affiliates to grow the business, paying out over $105,000 in affiliate commissions so far.

AutoShorts.ai: $113K in Monthly Recurring Revenue
AI-powered video creation service
AutoShorts.ai is a video generation platform which was launched in 2024 by Eric Smith.
The application enables users to create faceless videos thanks to AI, which can be published on the likes of TikTok and YouTube.
Customers can select a topic for their video series, and the AI software will begin producing the first video which can then be previewed and edited before being scheduled to post. Alternatively, the whole publication process can be automated.
Users can create one video for free to test the service, and there are then three subscription tiers ranging from $19 to $69 per month. These allow customers to post from three times per week to twice a day.
As of December 2024, Eric has grown the business beyond $113,400 in monthly revenue.

Publer: $1.4M in Annual Recurring Revenue
Schedule, analyze and collaborate on social media posts
Publer was founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Ervin Kalemi and was initially a side project to help grow a travel agency in Albania.
More than ten years later they're one of the most used social media scheduling tools on the planet, with stats on their homepage revealing they have over 400,000 registered users.
At the end of 2023 Ervin announced the company had almost reached $1.5M in annual recurring revenue.
Publer have not revealed revenues in 2024 but at the time of their previous revenue announcement they had 300,000 users. As this has now increased significantly, it's fair to assume their revenue has increased significantly as well.
While I don't use the service personally, I've been impressed at their speed of execution, quickly adding an integration with Bluesky as the platform began to take off.

Typefully: $1.4M in Annual Revenue
Social Media Publishing and Inspiration platform
Typefully is a platform to create and schedule social media threads and analyse their impact which was founded in 2020 by Fabrizio Rinaldi and Francesco Di Lorenzo.
The service features AI to support post rewriting, tweet inspiration, and automated DMs as well as the ability to transform social threads into blog posts. Typefully also makes it possible to share drafts with team members to collaborate before going live with any posts.
As well as a free option which allows one post to a single X account, there are three additional pricing tiers available to customers, allowing them to publish posts on X, Mastodon and LinkedIn
The Creator subscription costs $16 per month with unlimited publishing and scheduling capabilities. The Team level costing $49 allows two teams with unlimited members, and the Agency tier costs $99 per month for an unlimited number of teams.
Typefully has been used by over 130,000 customers to date, and the now team of three people is generating $1.4 million in annual revenue.

Zoko: $3M in Annual Revenue
Marketing and sales for Whatsapp
Zoko co-founder Arjun Paul recently revealed his SaaS company has reached $3M in annual revenue from over one thousand paying customers.
Zoko was part of the Y Combinator Winter 2021 cohort and has raised $1.56M to date.
The company does something quite different from others on this page: It's all in on WhatsApp.
The service allows you to send message broadcasts and link directly to products where your customers and prospects are already hanging out.
With pricing starting at $34.99 per month (plus $0.015 for every conversation), Zoko also has integrations with Facebook, Instagram and Shopify. WhatsApp and Shopify are an additional cost.
Our understanding is that the $3M in revenue which was revealed is annual revenue, but we'll try to clarify that it isn't lifetime numbers.

Expandi: $9M in Annual Revenue
LinkedIn outreach automation software
Expandi is a cloud-based automation tool for LinkedIn which was founded in 2022 by Stefan Smulders.
The software allows users to create automated outreach campaigns to qualified leads, talent candidates and potential investors. These emails and LinkedIn messages can be personalised to include images or GIFs.
Expandi has 15,000 users and is currently being leveraged by 2,500 agencies running outreach on LinkedIn. The service costs $99 per month which allows customers to choose from more than ten campaign types and seven scraping approaches.
Expandi has seen impressive growth since launching, with monthly recurring revenue reaching $337,000 after just 12 months. This upward trajectory has continued with the business now achieving $9 million in annual recurring revenue after just over two years.
They’ve no plans to stop there either, with a business goal to reach $10 million in annual recurring revenue in the near future.

Buffer: $19M in Annual Revenue
Social media publishing and management
Buffer is a social media management toolkit for businesses that was founded in 2010 by Joel Gascoigne.
The service aims to help customers grow their brand through audience engagement across social media channels. They support increasing followers through a library of content ideas and the ability to publish and schedule posts.
The business also features the opportunity for users to collaborate, a shared inbox to reply to conversations on various social platforms and a dashboard featuring analytics and reporting.
There are a team of 80 remote staff operating in 20 different countries who work to support 155,000 monthly active users. Customers can use the service for free to plan and publish posts on up to three channels. There are then three paid subscription tiers ranging from $6 to $120 per month, which include various benefits such as analytics and unlimited team members and clients.
Buffer previously received $4 million in funding as they looked to grow the business but hasn’t taken on any investment since 2014. The lack of additional external financing hasn’t stopped the brand from generating over $170 million in lifetime revenue.
As of October 2024, Buffer was operating at $19.2 million in annual revenue. Despite challenges, the annual run rate has only briefly dropped below $18 million in the last three years, reaching $22.3 million in early 2020.

MagicLinks: $21M in Annual Revenue

MagicLinks is a platform to help creators monetise their followers which was founded in 2015.
The business allows influencers to earn an income as fans shop product recommendations across their social platforms.
Users that team up with MagicLinks can promote products, and receive commissions through partnerships with over 5,000 brands including the likes of Fendi, Nordstrom and Lululemon.
There are already more than 20,000 creators using the service, and the 975,000 videos they’ve created to date have attracted 56 billion views and $5.4 billion in sales.
This has allowed MagicLinks to post annual revenue figures of $21.8 million. A huge increase on the previous years' revenue of $9.6 million.

Linktree: $25M in Annual Revenue
Service highlighting all social media accounts from one place
Linktree is a platform for content creators to share a link to their various social media profiles within their bio landing page which was founded in Australia in 2016 by Nick Humphreys and brothers Alex and Anthony Zaccaria.
Customers can use the service to create a link which then connects to all of their social media channels such as Instagram, X, YouTube and TikTok from one Linktree page.
The Linktree database then allows customers to analyse their audience and track engagement and revenue.
There are currently over 50 million people using the service, which is a huge jump from 24 million users in 2022. They boast some familiar names as part of the customer base including Selena Gomez and Major League Baseball.
There is a Free plan available, as well as a Starter tier costing $5 per month, a Pro option for $9 and a Premium priced at $24 per month, all offering different customisation and analysis variations.
In 2022 Linktree raised $110 million to continue its expansion, taking the total amount of investment to $165.7 million. This funding coincided with Linktree posting losses for the year, despite an annual revenue of $25 million.

Sprout Social: $385M in Annual Revenue

Sprout Social is a social media management solution that was founded in 2010 by Justyn Howard, Gil Lara, Aaron Ranking and Peter Soung.
The business features a number of tools to help customers publish new social media content and monitor the impact of their efforts.
Along with content ideas based on trends and insights, the software also provides a unified inbox featuring AI responses, engagement analytics, and influencer marketing support. Sprout Social also features integrations with many platforms, including LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
The cloud-based service - which is powered by a team of more than 1,000 staff - has worked with more than 30,000 brands to support their social media marketing and engagement strategies. The cost to use the platform ranges from $249 to $499 per month (discounted if paying annually).
Sprout Social has received $111.5 million in funding to date and have been posting some very strong financial results recently. Annual recurring revenue for 2023 was $385.2 million, up 30% YoY.
This trajectory has continued, with the first two quarters of 2024 trending over 26% up compared to the previous year. Q3 2024 revenue was $102.6M, up 20% year over year.
Financial projections expect revenue for the whole of 2024 to reach between $405 to $406 million.
